Healthy Start Home Visitor Program (HSHV)

Background

The HSHV program is free and provides a home visit to expectant and new parents in Clay County. It provides information and support related to pregnancy health and becoming a new parent.

Home Visitor Services

Our home visitors can also make referrals and give you information on other community services to help you provide the best for your family, including:

  • Adult education - GED, high school diploma, how to speak English
  • Breastfeeding Support
  • Child development services
  • Counseling - individual, relationship, grief, etc
  • Family planning
  • Financial help - emergency food, food stamps, health care and emergency assistance
  • Help with being a parent (Early Headstart and Parents As Teachers)
  • Life-style change programs - stop smoking, alcohol and drug abuse, etc.
  • Obtaining licensed childcare and childcare assistance
  • Pregnancy health information and case management services (M&I)
  • Supplemental food for women, infants and children (WIC)
